On why the arts matter

February 10, 2011

Good art stops being art – it becomes a way of being happy, of receiving something beautiful and human from stranger, of confirming one’s identity, of being not alone. A wonderful defence of support for the arts from AL Kennedy in the Guardian. Hat Tip Laurence Macklin.
