dis-stress management
August 28, 2007
I haven’t had a lot of time to blog this week but one thing that’s going around in my mind is “stress” management and how that actually works? I’m thinking that before you get there you may need to engage in some “dis-stress” management which is really what people present with and then maybe you get to “de-stress” management….But “stress” management..I don’t know…I don’t think I’ve ever been useful helping anyone to manage stress…live with it yes, manage it? I don’t know…any thoughts anyone?
Guess you are right. Certain amount of stress is good for us, as you know. We help folks cope with stress. I guess over the years “managing” stress has come to be known as stress management!
You’re right, Annette – we need to erase excess stress rather than manage it. I swear by EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), for calming me when I’m overstressed. It helps me think more clearly and work my effectively. There’s a free manual available from http://www.emofree.com. Well recommended.
All best, Tracy
Knowing when to just stop probably plays a lead role in so called “stress managment”. People seem to take on to much these days.
